Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Limited Edition?

The total amount of prints ever to be produced of any given photograph are limited to a pre-determined number to ensure high collectability value. There will never be another reprint of that photograph once the edition has sold out.

Is the artwork authenticated?

Yes. Each Mario Basner Limited Edition artwork is hand-signed and features an authentication certificate with a serialized and numbered hologram on the back of the artwork. Collectors also receive a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity containing the corresponding hologram number and all edition details.

What is an archival pigment print?

An archival pigment print is created utilizing advanced archival inks, similar to a giclee. We use state of the art technology and the most advanced substrates and materials in the world today. The archival qualities of ink based printing are far superior to available chemical processes and your artworks will last for generations.

Do you sell rolled prints?

No, we do not offer rolled prints as Mario Basner limited edition artworks are specifically designed for acrylic face-mounting to provide the best possible viewing experience. All artworks come ready to hang with a recessed float frame or custom framed, depending on your preference.

What is a recessed float frame?

Recessed float frames are a wooden frame behind the photograph which makes the artwork appear as if it is floating off the wall. This contemporary presentation is highly popular and manufactured to the highest standards on the market today.

Do you offer custom framing?

Yes! The framing options on our website are our most popular frames. The suggested framing selections are hand-crafted in Italy by experienced artisans and provide an unparalleled level of elegance and craftsmanship. What about Care and Handling?

Installation

We highly recommend art installation be carried out by an experienced professional, especially but not limited to large scale works

Cleaning your acrylic-mounted artwork

Mario Basner Photography uses 95% UV absorbing, optical acrylic for our face mount acrylic art pieces. While it may be the best material in the industry, it is not immune to scratching.

Extreme caution should be used whenever it is necessary to clean the surface of your acrylic mounted photograph. Per the manufacturer's instructions, dust the picture glazing with a soft, damp microfiber cloth or chamois, utilizing a non-abrasive plastic cleaner or an eyeglass cleaner for resin lenses. Dry or gritty cloths may cause surface scratches and create a static electric charge on the surface.

Do not use paper towels or other paper products, window cleaning sprays, kitchen scouring compounds or aggressive solvents, as this may cause permanent damage to your image.

Cleaning the frame

Simply dusting the frame and occasionally cleaning it with a clean, damp cloth should help keep your frames looking great. If a deeper cleaning is necessary, we recommend using a slightly dampened soft, lint free cloth that is free of dyes or chemicals. We do not recommend any type of conditioner or chemical to be placed on your frames. Avoid any use of liquid or chemical cleaning products.

Remember that our frames are made from wood and other natural material, which can be affected by age, exposure to sun, heating, cooling and humidity. For waxed frames, a very light coat of "Briwax Clear" Polish is optional every few years. To remove surface dust that accumulates on the liner over time, use compressed air or simply lift off the dust with Scotch tape.

Lighting your Art

To sufficiently light the artworks, Mario Basner's World Heritage Collection Gallery uses MR16 halogen bulbs at 3000° Kelvin. We recommend consulting an electrician or lighting professional to determine the perfect lighting solution to meet your needs.

Environment

Mario Basner photographs are produced using only the finest materials and utilizing state of the art printing technology. Although the acrylic materials provide UV protection, it is recommended to avoid displaying your photograph in direct sunlight, high humidity, or high temperatures. Temperatures in excess of 80°F, direct sunlight, or humidity above approximately 60% could cause damage to your artwork.
