EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF MODERN DESIGN
-
The Stuttgart City Library in Germany is among the most modern libraries in Europe. It was conceptualized by Yi Architects Cologne and opened in 2011 at a construction cost of 80 Million Euro.
The architect's intent behind the design of the Stuttgart library was to create a space that goes beyond the traditional concept of a library. The architects aimed to create a modern, vibrant, and welcoming cultural hub that serves the community as a whole and provides access to knowledge, education, and culture. They wanted the library to be a place that inspires creativity, learning, and innovation.
The design of the library encourages exploration and discovery, with its open plan layout, natural light, and ample study areas. Yi Architects sought to create a modern, functional, and inspiring space that reflects the changing nature of libraries and the communities they serve.
The photograph aims to portray the architects' concept of absorbing knowledge and wealth from the outside in. One should feel centered, peaceful and enriched by external stimulation, both intellectually and emotionally.
